He Does Care

"Damn contractors..." Huang grumbled to himself after leaving his team to carry out the mission he relayed to them. The contractor that gave him the most trouble was Hei, contractor BK-201, the Syndicate's star contractor. The same contractor who failed to follow simple instructions that even Huang himself could do. The contractor who always managed to do the task at hand yet did something else at the same time too. Who didn't use his power like the enemy contractors did. They relied on their power...Hei himself, preferred his own abilities, his own tricks and traps before resorting the power for the finishing move. Hei was just a struggle to understand, to control at points. When Yin went missing, Huang could see that Hei was in a state of panic, he didn't dare show it but Huang had been working with people in the past, so he saw hidden away in the contractors eyes the flicker of a human emotion, panic. If Huang questioned, Hei wouldn't have said anything or just brushed it off and ignored Huang. It was best to just keep quiet. Even if given the choice to work with a different team...Huang would stay with the team he has. Sure they were weird in their own ways and two were monsters while one was just a doll. She was quiet, helped Hei get what Huang wanted and then that was that. Sure she cared for Hei just like Mao did but monsters always cared for each other.

Huang returned back to his home...for the time being anyway. He thought about the time he was in the Japanese police force, the time before he came in contact with contractors. Things were perfect then; he had someone he loved, someone who loved him back. Someone who made him feel special and loved...now he was working with monsters, one trained assassin, a cat and the doll. Something Huang never thought he would have worked with. Huang wasn't even sure what side he was working for? Was he working on the right side? Or was he working on the wrong side? He didn't know, he got paid and that was enough for any human to live with, it wasn't something that Huang really thought about. Huang sat down on the bed in the room; it wasn't like he had much choice in where he went. He was part of the Syndicate, which was the 'right' side to work on

He thought back to when Yin went missing. He was in charge of killing Yin but he didn't. The way that the doll worked it stopped him, the way she cried with the tears of a normal person. That was what stopped Huang's finger from pulling the trigger. It wasn't the fact that the doll spectres reminded everyone who saw it of moonlight. The moon vanished when the monsters started to come and show their faces around. Huang noticed that he started to look at his team differently after that mission. It was strange to feel anything for the contractors and the doll. Huang looked at the cigarette and smiled.

"Never thought that I would care for those guys."
